A little over a mile south of Shinjuku Station and into Shibuya is the fabulous open-air KITASANDO COFFEE. This large café sits on a corner on the ground floor of an apato (apartment building in Japanese) and has an open front during business hours. The large expansive front + bar seating makes for a nice atmosphere.
You can get to either Shinjuku Station or Harajuku Station on the JR lines, or to either on the Ginza Metro Line. From Harajuku head north, then east, from Shinjuku Station head south, then east. Either way it’s under a mile. The cafe is in a backstreet neighborhood to the east of both. It may take some navigating, but its easy to get to.
KITASANDO COFFEE is a really cool and slightly unusual café which is sure to please. It’s wide open-air feeling is refreshing and it’s easy to get to.
