Steve Jobs + Japanese Art

Great segment from NHK on Jobs and Japan.

It was Jobs’ trip to Sony Japan in 1982 to secure the use of the Sony 3.5″ floppy disk drive for the original Mac that was the inspiration for the Mac’s minimalist Zen design aesthetic.

Incredibly, you can even still find New Sealed Box Apple Macintosh Floppy Disks 3.5″ DD DS 800k on eBay.

Or even this little sealed box of 10 – for a mere $1,200.

Even more incredible is that people today are still writing new games for the original classic Mac.
