Narita is the largest airport in the Tokyo area and lies about 40 miles north of the center of Tokyo. You can get to Tokyo fast by taking the N’EX train from Narita station into the center of Tokyo.
But the really interesting thing in this area is the charming small town of Narita just a few miles outside the airport. We’ve covered the town previously at the link below, but now everything is about to change in Narita.
We’ve just learned the Chiba Prefecture gov’t and Narita airport authority are planning to build a huge new city around Narita airport. While this may result in an increase in commerce it also most likely means the quiet little town of Narita itself near the airport may be changed forever. If you want to see the town of Narita as it is today, before it’s gone you’d best make a trip there and check it out before the sands of time take an irrevocable toll on this quintessential Japanese town.
