Worth it? Totally.

Just west of the central Shibuya area is a great free rooftop garden called Meguro Sky Garden. This garden has delightful sitting areas, views of Shibuya, and an outdoor soccer field. It also has cherry blossom viewing in spring.

It’s actually close enough to the central Shibuya JR Station that you can walk – about a mile. From Shibuya JR Station or Shibuya Crossing (Scramble) head south a few blocks. At the next major intersection – Tokyo Metropolitain Expressway, turn west (right). Follow the sidewalk on the left side of the street down about a mile until you come to the large white overhead pedestrian walkway. Head up the stairs to the left into the garden.

There is also a closer subway station just to the west called Ikejiri Ohashi Sta. on the Tokyu Den-en-toshi Line (which also happens to stop at the brand new Minami-machida Grandberry Park).

Enjoy!
