Just a mile or so southeast of Tokyo’s famous Ginza district is a hip little cafe in the Tsukiji area called Turret Coffee. The shop sells delicious high-end brews + espresso, and small snacks. There’s some really good coffee here.
Access
To get here, take the Metro Hibiya Line, and exit at Tsukiji station, which is just across the street. Cross north, then turn left and it’s just down a small side street:
Turret Coffee is just on the right where the signs in the street are.
Alternately, you can go to Yurakucho Station in the main area northwest of Ginza, then walk several blocks southeast to get to Turret Coffee.
As a footnote, just across the street to the southwest is one of the most famous Buddhist temples in Tokyo: The huge Tsukiji Hongan-ji. If you have some extra time, it’s worth a visit. At night the grounds are lit up in brilliant floodlights.
Conclusion
Turret Coffee has some excellent coffee and if you’re nearby, it’s worth a stop.
Enjoy!
