Nestled away on the Tokyo Bay island of Ariake is an incredible museum called SMALL WORLDS.
Just a few blocks north of Tokyo Big Site on the Yurikamome Line, SMALL WORLDS is an astonishing spectacle you won’t want to miss if you’re in Tokyo.
To get the Yurikamome Line head to Shiodomé in the northwest corner of Tokyo Bay in Koto City.
SMALL WORLDS is absolutely, unbelievably incredible. Here entire cities or sections of cities are reproduced down to the smallest detail including lighting, moving trains, planes, and cars, and just about everything else. The detail in these dioramas is unreal – even by Japanese standards.
There’s also a spaceport museum with a Saturn V replica, miniature airports, and sporting venues.
The museum also has educational workshops for school children.
If you’re on a trip to one of the Tokyo Bay islands on the Yurikamome Line loop, be sure you take time out to see this place. You won’t regret it.
Enjoy!
