Kiba Park is a huge park in eastern Tokyo just south of the Sendai-Bori River. It has long walking trails, a visitor’s center, lots of trees + open green space, an arboretum (Kiba Midorium), some other exhibits, and unsual for most Tokyo parks, a large parking lot for vehicles.
To get to the park, take the Tozai Metro Line, and exit Kiba Station, then head north on foot. The park is just a block north.
At the north end of the park is a large suspension bridge you can walk across straddling the Sendai-Bori River.
Also just to the north of the park is the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo (M0+).
Area Layout
Kiba Park in eastern Tokyo, lower right. Just to the north is the Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo (M0+), and in the upper left corner northeast of that is Kiyosumi-Shirakawa. Central Tokyo is to the west, out of view.
Also, just to the northeast are 2 more small parks worth a look: Toyosumi Park + Sendaiborigawa Park
If you’re up for another 3 mile walk to the north, also check out the fabulous Tokyo Sky Tree. See our Superguide for more info.
Conclusion
Kiba Park is vast + impressive. It’s worth a stop if you have time, and its convient access on the Tozai Line make it easy to get to. Definitely worth a stroll if you have a few hours to kill.
Enjoy!
